Rob expressed an admiration/awe for the ground-breaking jazz drummers of the fifties and sixties – Max Roach, Philly Joe Jones, Art Blakey. I wanted his portrait to reflect the style of these drummers, mixed with the design of Blue Note record sleeves of the time. We shot this in my living room.
